  1. Post update

    That's all for tonight.

The FA Cup marches on and so do we. A bumper weekend continues with 19 games taking place tomorrow.

Here's the match reports from tonight's games:

    Brentford 1-1 Wolves

    Fulham 1-0 Rotherham United

    Tottenham 1-0 Burnley

See you tomorrow when the first set of matches kick-off at 12:30 GMT.

    Bye!

  2. 'We have been too good consistently for it to not turn around'

More from Vincent Kompany speaking to ITV on not getting over the line in enough games: "If you watch the beginning of the season you would be surprised because it was an improvement. But our last 12 games that is how it has looked. Some games we create more chances, even clearer chances.

"We'll just have to keep working. The training ground is a beautiful place to get things to improve and our focus is there. We are looking forward to the next game."

On the lighter schedule: "I don't mind [playing] a lot of games. We were used to that in the Championship. I think the more games the better, we get used to keep playing and living those games and eventually it will turn around.

"We have been too good consistently to not believe that it will turn around at some point."

  3. 'Sometimes you have to shake hands and say 'top goal''

    FT: Tottenham 1-0 Burnley

FA Cup: Reaction as Tottenham beat Burnley in third round (2)

    Burnley

Burnley boss Vincent Kompany speaking to ITV: "I've never known the mood of the camp to be joyful after a defeat but... We are disappointed with the result of course but I said to the lads about key moments. I think we have earned the right to be in those games, to compete in those type of games.

"At the start of the season the gap was too big, but recently we are competing. What we need to do now it to bring that final bit. If you concede a goal like we did today, sometimes you have to shake hands and say: 'A top goal and that's it.' We've got to take our chances.

"You play against a top team like we did and they have chances as well, so it is always also credit to them."

On the goal conceded: "I look back at it and think it was 0-0, and we are trying to go for the win. There was acres of space but we were having one of our vest players on the ball receive that pass. Then what follows, you know how can you expect that?

"For me the goal starts with the set piece. We are normally so aggressive on second balls but for this one we took a step back, then the counter came, then the turn over and the goal later on.

"Those are the moments that in the Premier League you get punished. Our players are working very hard every day to get to the level, to develop. Such a good group to work with and we keep going."

  4. When is the fourth round draw?

Make a note Fulham and Tottenham fans...

The draw for the FA Cup fourth round will take place on Monday, 8 January before the third-round tie between Wigan Athletic and Manchester United, which is being televised by ITV.

The 16 fourth-round games will be scheduled across the weekend of Saturday, 27 January.

  5. 'I think it was a bit of luck'

    FT: Tottenham 1-0 Burnley

Tottenham full-back and man of the match Pedro Porro speaking to ITV about his matchwinning goal: "I think it was a bit of luck today. Very happy for the team, very happy for my first goal this season.

"Next time, next game, hopefully more luck for me too."

  6. 'Bottom line is we're through to the next round'

    FT: Tottenham 1-0 Burnley

FA Cup: Reaction as Tottenham beat Burnley in third round (4)

    Tottenham Hotspur

Tottenham boss Ange Postecoglou speaking to ITV1: "I think it's a cup competition so whatever I say or whatever my analysis is, the bottom line is we're though to the next round so that's what you've got to take out of it because I think the cup games are a unique beast and we're through to the next round so that's the main thing.

"We were a little bit wasteful in the final third because we had most of the ball, most of the territory. As I said you analyse those things and give feedback to the players and it's better to do that when you're in the next round of the cup."

On Pedro Porro's goal: "We're disappointed he hasn't had a few more this season, he's been a bit unlucky, hit the post a couple of times and he's been outstanding all year, working on his defensive game but we know as an attacking threat he's also got those qualities and the way the game was going we were going to need something special from someone and he delivered."

On Eric Dier's absence: "He's injured, he got injured in training yesterday. I know absolutely zero [about transfer rumours to Bayern Munich and personal terms being agreed] but Eric didn't train today, he was injured, he wasn't selected so that's it."

Pedro Porro scored his first goal of the season in all competitions for Tottenham.

His last goal for the club was on the final day of last season’s Premier League, netting in a 4-1 win at Leeds United.

  8. 'It took an unbelievable strike to put us in the next round'

    FT: Tottenham 1-0 Burnley

FA Cup: Reaction as Tottenham beat Burnley in third round (6)

    Tottenham Hotspur

Tottenham's Brennan Johnson speaking to ITV: "I think we made it harder than it could have been. We could have finished off some chances better, we got into some good positions but the right decision probably wasn't made - decide to take a shot instead of pass or vice versa.

"At the end of the day it took an unbelievable strike from Pedro to take us into the next round which is where we wanted to be. No luck about the goal. Everyone who watches him every week knows the quality he has, especially on the ball.

"Sometimes he is too far out most weeks to get a shot on goal. But today he won the ball back high, drove with it and there wasn't too many options. He has the quality, he shoots a lot in training, misses a lot, but yes today it came off. Unbelievable goal."

On if it is his best chance to win the FA Cup in recent years: "The manager said before the game that we are in two compeittions, the Premier League and the FA Cup, and we are in no position to slack off in either. Today we won 1-0, seven minutes added on and Burnley pushed with all they had.

"We have to keep pushing and playing our style and if we keep doing so every week in the league and in this cup too we have every chance of success."

On life under Ange Postecoglou: "Yes we are enjoying it a lot. You can tell by how we perform on the pitch. We want to keep progressing individually and as a team and hopefully get better."

  9. 'Not the best performance'

    FT: Fulham 1-0 Rotherham

FA Cup: Reaction as Tottenham beat Burnley in third round (7)

    Fulham

Fulham manager Marco Silva: "Going through in the competition was our aim, our desire was clear and we deserved it.

"Not the best performance when you have so many changes in the XI. They have the quality to start a Premier League game but when you change seven or eight from one game to another it will always have an impact.

"I knew that was probably going to be the situation but I would like to see a better performance. But it was our obligation to control the game like we did, to not give many things to them - they didn't have one shot on target.

"We did control the game, scored one good goal from Bobby [De Cordova-Reid] and had three or four more clear chances to score. One off the post and a great save from the goalkeeper so, of course, we deserve to go through."

On squad players getting a chance: "It's important, some of them deserve more chances because of the way they work. Last few games they haven't played but they are more than ready to play Premier League if we need them."

On an FA Cup run: "It's really important. Last season we did it and got to the quarter-finals and people who saw that game know we deserved more from that game.

"For different reasons, we didn't get to the semi-finals but to go to that stage and perform the way we did, you have to be proud. You have to work hard to go further than that."

  10. Into the fourth round

    FT: Tottenham 1-0 Burnley

Tottenham have now progressed from 17 of their last 18 FA Cup third round ties, including each of the last 10 in a row.

In those 18 ties, their only failure to progress was against Arsenal in 2013-14.

Spurs have also scored in all 22 matches under Ange Postecoglou in all competitions.

In the Premier League era, the only manager to have a longer start of scoring games is Carlo Ancelotti at Chelsea (scored in first 28 under him).

  11. A familiar feeling

Burnley have now been eliminated from the FA Cup on six occasions by Tottenham, the joint most any side has knocked them out (also six by Arsenal, Aston Villa and Liverpool).

Among teams in the big-five European leagues this season, Burnley have lost more games than any other side in all competitions (17).

  12. 'We nullified them in many areas'

    FT: Fulham 1-0 Rotherham

Rotherham manager Leam Richardson: "You've got to be pleased. You're coming to a really well-coached Premier League team in Fulham and I thought we nullified them in many areas and had a goal disallowed.

"It's always disappointing when you lose a game but respect to Fulham and we wish them well moving forward."

On what Rotherham can take form the game: "More improvement, more evolvement, more cohesion around the pitch. We're not going to face much stiffer opposition than we did tonight and they'll take great credit with that. They'll grow as a team and individuals.

"It'll only benefit us moving forward."

  13. Post update

    FT: Tottenham 1-0 Burnley

Brennan Johnson and Pedro Porro are chatting to ITV after their win over Burnley.

Johnson is asked about Porro's goal and he jokes that he "misses loads in training".

This was Burnley goalkeeper Arijanet Muric's view of it.

  14. 'A deserved win for Spurs in the end'

    Clinton Morrison

Former Republic of Ireland striker on BBC Radio 5 Live

It's a special goal, a goal worthy of winning any football match.

I don't care how many keepers you have in the net, two of three of them could have stopped the ball. An inch perfect strike from Pedro Porro to decide things for Tottenham.

Burnley will be left disappointed. They missed two big chances from Amdouni and they could have taken the tie to a replay.

Tottenham dominated for the most part and deserved it in the end.

  15. Post update

So that wraps up tonight's matches.

Fulham are through after that 1-0 win over Rotherham United, while Tottenham join them after beating Burnley 1-0.

Brentford and Wolves are going to have to replay after finishing 1-1, despite the visitors having a man sent off in the ninth minute.

  16. 'Amdouni has to score'

    Clinton Morrison

Former Republic of Ireland striker on BBC Radio 5 Live

It's a great header from Muric and Amdouni has to score. A last great chance missed.

  17. FULL-TIME

    Tottenham 1-0 Burnley

That's literally the last kick of the match! Talk about a dramatic ending. Tottenham cling on to a narrow 1-0 win and they are into the fourth round alongside Fulham.

  18. CLOSE!

    Tottenham 1-0 Burnley

    What a chance for Burnley!

Mike Tresor pulls it back to Hannes Delcroix and the defender is unmarked. His shot lacks power and it allows Tottenham to block it in the six-yard area.

From the resulting corner, the goalkeeper Arijanet Muric goes up, wins the flick-on and Zeki Amdouni pokes it JUST wide.

    Wow!!!

  19. Post update

    Tottenham 1-0 Burnley

Vitinho is fouled as Ryan Sessegnon breaks down the left. A few boos from fans who wanted Tottenham to finish the game off.

  20. 'An incredible effort'

    FT: Brentford 1-1 Wolves

FA Cup: Reaction as Tottenham beat Burnley in third round (14)

    Wolves

Wolves manager Gary O'Neil: "I'm really pleased, it's an incredible effort from the players. There was not much between the teams even with 10 versus 11. We coped with their extra man, tactically we dealt with it very well. Even going 1-0 down with 10 men, to put in the second half they did was really impressive."

On Joao Gomes' red card: "I can see it. I know Joao, he would never do this on purpose, but it doesn't look great."

On the other incidents: "The tackle on Tommy Doyle [by Mikkel Damsgaard] is a straight leg with studs, just as bad as Joao.

"Then [Keane Lewis-Potter] grabbing Nelson Semedo by the throat is a red. We were saying in the bench, it will be a red, VAR will give a red, so I was really surprised, but it's not really my problem, I will deal with my group."

On whether he will speak to the referee: "I'm on two yellow cards, so I wanted to tread very carefully. I'm not sure where the line is, sometimes questions can get you booked. I will ask for an explanation but that won't help us. We now have a player missing for three games and they don't."
